“I am 43 years old and have struggled with my weight most of my life. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid over 20 years ago and the constant monitoring of food and exercise became a way of life for me. Note that a big part of the equation was the exercise! This worked for me until I fell down the stairs in January 2010. I dislocated three of my toes in my left foot. It required three surgeries over the next two years to help me get the use of my foot back. This involved seven months on crutches, four more months in a walking boot and many more months of constant pain whenever I tried to walk. Needless to say, the exercise portion of my formula went out the window! I became depressed and fell into very unhealthy eating habits. Over these two years, I put on 25 pounds. I am only 5'2" so 25 pounds was very significant for me. Now, over the last year and a half of training with Thalas' group, I have managed to hold my own with the group, get off my cholesterol medicine, and back into my love of running AND managed to lose the 25 gained pounds PLUS 10 more! I feel like I am in better shape now than I was in my 20's! I honestly look forward to coming in to see Thalas and all my friends in the exercise group. I literally plan my entire week including three little kid's doctor's appointments, school functions and friends lunches around my three times a week boot camp class. This class ALWAYS comes first! I really believe it would have been significantly more difficult for me to get back in shape on my own and he is the reason that I was able to lose the weight!
